William “Bill” Craig Edgar

    William “Bill” Craig Edgar of Steelville, Missouri was born at Huzzah, Missouri to Floyd Thomas and Hazel Jeanette Martin Edgar and passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the age of 60 years, and 10 days.

    On July 1, 1996 in Potosi, Missouri Bill married Maria Burnett.
    Bill worked as a caretaker for farmers in the area. He was of the Baptist faith. Bill had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and turkey. He also enjoyed raising rabbits and chickens.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel Edgar; infant brother, Cole Edgar; three sisters, infant Lula Carol Edgar, Geraldine Pratt and Brenda Asher; and sister-in-law, Leda Edgar.
    He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maria of the home; mother-in-law, April Hall of Viburnum, Missouri; seven brothers, Floyd (Kathleen) Edgar of Horine, Missouri, Vondel Edgar of Viburnum, Missouri, Vernon (Lien) Edgar of DeSoto, Missouri, Malcolm Edgar of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Arnold Edgar of  Boonville, Missouri, Kelly (Angie) Edgar of Cherryville, Missouri and Ricky (Anna) Edgar of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters, Janet (Jerry) Parmley of Mineral Point, Missouri and Janice Kay (Lee) Parker of Vacaville, California; two brothers-in-law, Bob Pratt of DeSoto, Missouri and Emmett Asher of Bixby, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Shoal Creek Cemetery with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace,” led by Pastor Paul Davis, was sung by family and friends.
    Committal prayer and interment were in the Shoal Creek Cemetery, Berryman, Missouri.
    Casket bearers were Tracy Edgar, Alan Edgar, Nathan Asher, Rick Edgar, Kelly Edgar and Ronnie Vance.
