Winifred “Windy” Ernestine Bonsch Moore


    Winifred “Windy” Ernestine Bonsch Moore of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of El Cerrito, California, was born on April 23, 1948 to Ernest and Ramona Lorena Hart Bonsch in Oakland, California and passed away December 29, 2021 at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 6 days.


    She was raised a Catholic attending and graduating from St. Mary’s Elementary School in Oakland, California, then went onto Fremont High and M.T. I. Business School.
    Windy eventually started traveling around the states of California and Nevada working at various jobs along the way before settling into accounting/bookkeeping.
    She was at one time married to Raymond Moore, whom she divorced in 1976. In 1979 she made her home with Norm Wenaas in El Cerrito, California where they shared a life together until his death in 1996.
    Windy arrived in Steelville, Missouri in 2004 where she worked as a telephone interviewer at C.F.R.  (Communications for Research) for about five years. She was completely into nature, loving wildlife, especially birds where she always fed them. Also, she had pet birds of her own.
    She was an avid music lover with a collection of everything from classical, old-time country to rock’n’roll. Windy enjoyed going with Luci Martin up to Gibbs when Luci played music. In 2015 upon acquiring an electronic keyboard from her dear friend Luci, Windy started playing the piano again under the direction of Delores Bell. Then in 2018, she purchased an old Wurlitzer piano where she had to re-learn playing some of the pieces she had already mastered due to being able to completely play them the way they were written.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ramona Bonsch in 1972.
    She is survived by friends Sharon McLellan and Mary Ella Scott-Salter from California; other friends from Washington and Hawaii; dear friends, Luci Martin and Daphne Brinkley and her daughter Emma Brinkley from Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Upon the request of Windy, no funeral or services will be held. Her ashes will be scattered following cremation.
