Wanda Lee Powell of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Saturday, October 26, 1935 on Senath, Missouri to Edward and Goldie (Letner) Potter and passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Wanda married Jack Powell. on June 9, 1951 in Piggott, Arkansas.
Wanda worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years. She worked at hospitals in Southeast, Missouri and she would later become a home healthcare nurse. She loved taking care of others and always put others before herself. She enjoyed reading, going to the casino, watching MeTV every evening and Jimmy Swaggart on Sunday morning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Goldie Potter; husband, Jack W. Powell; two sons, David Powell and Derek Eaton; one brother, Elsie Eugene and wife Niva Mae Potter; two sisters, Virginia Louise and husband Joe Buchanan and Frances and husband James Pritchet.
She is survived by her son, Paul and wife Karen Powell of Lafayette, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brian and wife Carrie Powell of Lafayette, Indiana, Alysia and husband Brian Desilets of Spring, Texas, Stephen and wife Betsy Powell of St. Louis, Missouri and Aaron and wife Alison of Spring, Texas; one sister, Joyce and husband Norman Miller of Dittmer, Missouri; 10 great granddaughters; one great grandson; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Lesa Mizell officiating.
Interment followed at the Lea Cemetery in Leasburg, Missouri.
