David Benedict Morris

David Benedict Morris of Clinton Township, Michigan was born August 31, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Ben and Roberta Morris and passed away October 18, 2021 at the age of 82 years.

He married Dawne Juris on December 31, 1988 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
David became a child of God in his 20’s and was a devoted worker in the Lord’s Church the rest of his life. David was always willing to serve as a teacher, song leader, led prayers and Bible studies. He served as an elder in the South Macomb Church of Christ in Roseville, Michigan for over 18 years.
David made sure the children in the congregation knew him and he made a special point to learn their interests. He taught the children Morse Code and they took much pleasure in sending him messages to translate and he sent messages back for them to translate.
David wrote songs for the children to sing to help them remember God’s word. His work with the children will impact their future Christian lives. One of the members at South Macomb told David that he had taught him how to grow old in the Lord.
David was an electrician by trade and he worked for General Motors for 42 years. He enjoyed operating Ham radios. One could even call him an enthusiast for repairing radios. He loved to purchase radio kits and build them.
Whether visiting him in person or on the phone, whether young or old, he always left you with a riddle to solve. He especially liked giving his grandchildren and the children at church riddles to solve until the next time that he saw them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Roberta Morris; and son, Todd Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Dawne, now living in Blacklick, Ohio; son, Larry Morris and wife Susan of Rolla, Missouri; daughter, Robin Lanphier of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Barbara Morris; grandchildren, Joshua Morris and wife Jessiqa of Hermann, Missouri, Julie Felan and husband Dustin of St. James, Missouri, Jennifer Morris of Seffner, Florida and Jessica Morris of Rolla, Missouri; great grandchildren, Addalye, Abigail, Benjamin, Layla, Elijah, Grahym, Evelynn and Olyver; other relatives and friends.
