Rose A. Tucker

    Rose A. (nee Tyrrell) Tucker of Sullivan, Missouri and formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born on Friday, September 7, 1923 in Marshalltown, Iowa to William Fitz and Alma (nee Turner) Tyrrell and passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 5 days.

    Rose graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Marshalltown, Iowa.  In 1949, she received her RN from St. Joseph Hospital School in Ottumwa, Iowa and her BSN in 1950 from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa.
    Rose worked for 40 years as a nurse in the operating room. She had worked at Little Company Hospital in Torrance, Califoria where she later retired.
    She married Doyle Tucker on December 28, 1957.
    Rose was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Cuba, Missouri and later attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, Missouri.  
    Rose was an accomplished artist, whose works have been on display at several area establishments.  She was a talented pianist.  Rose stayed physically active throughout her life and competed in Senior Olympics.
    She loved genealogy, mystery thrillers, going out to eat and homemade glazed donuts.      She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Tyrrell; parents-in-law, William and Pearl Tucker; husband, Doyle Tucker; brothers, William Tyrrell, Edward Tyrrell and David (Florence) Tyrrell; brother-in-law, Darrell (Louise) Tucker; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Luther) Pillow; son-in-law, Peter Hellmann; granddaughter, Angel Rose Tucker; great grandchildren, David Kampmann III, June Bauer and Tucker Bauer.
    she is survived by her children, Julie Hellmann of Malibu, Califorian, Georgianna (Bill) Gray of Cuba, Missouri, Joe Tucker of Long Beach, California, Bill Tucker of Prescott, Arizona and Gretchen (Mike) Dudenhoeffer of Freeburg, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Shelley, Don, Crystal, William, Emily, Matthew, Amber, Marci, Sissy, Anton and David; 20 great grandchildren, Edward, Patience, Ty, Parker, Xavier, Aurora, Rhiannon, Liam, Desmond, Mara, Ozzy, Seth, Anton IV, Sebastion, Abigail, Madison, Benjamin, Tobias, Malakai and Athena; great great grandson, Ashton; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, Missouri.
    Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, Missouri with Rev. Dan Merz officiating.
    Burial was at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri.
    Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
