Carrie A. Hensley


    Carrie A. Hensley of Pflugerville, Texas and formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 1, 1936 in Marion, Illinois to Alonzo and Mary (Klope) Hanks and passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 86 years.


    Carrie married Velmore Hensley on October 20, 1970 in Harrisburg, Illinois.
    Carrie was a homemaker. She was an active member of Covenant Praise Church, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, shopping and watching Days of Our Lives and Matlock.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Velmore Hensley; one son, Roscoe Gene Hensley; two step-granddaughters, Kristen and Bethany Ferguson; and eight siblings, Fern Randall, Edith Little, Margaret Rushing, Gilbert, Lyman, Richard and Dale Hanks and Elsie Black.
    She is survived by two children, John and wife Amy Hensley of Cuba, Missouri and Connie and husband George Dickinson of Pflugerville, Texas; four grandchildren, Josh Dickinson of Leander, Texas, Brittany Hensley of Sullivan, Missouri, Stephen and wife Kristen Dickinson of Statesville, North Carolina and Olivia Hensley of Cuba, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren, Pierce, Chase, Knoxie, Jade, Zoey, Piper, Paisley, Braxton, Indie and Autumn; one brother, Ruel and wife Mary Hanks of Pittsburg, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at noon on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Jeremiah Wilson officiating.
    Interment followed at the Mounts Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
