Erma Lee Jost-Farmer of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Bourbon, Missouri on November 30, 1944 to Seymour William and Mary Lorene (nee McCleary) Carter and passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 77 years.
She grew up in Sullivan, Missouri where she attended grade school.
At age 19, Erma married John “Tommy” Jost. Tommy passed away in 1981 and Erma and family returned to Missouri.
Erma worked several jobs throughout her life, but she was employed by Von Weise in St. Clair, Missouri for 20+ years. At one time, she was the President of the Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the VFW. In later years, Erma loved attending the Ridge Church of Sullivan, Missouri.
Later in life, Erma married Clarence Farmer on June 5, 1996. They enjoyed fishing, camping and watching golf together. They had been married 23 years when Clarence passed away in 2019.
Erma loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed her many cookbooks and could often be found watching cooking shows. She also loved watching her soap operas, the Young & the Restless and Days of Our Lives.
Erma was a social butterfly with a big, compassionate heart. She could also be quite the prankster and she loved old country music.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Jost; second husband, Clarence Farmer; one grandchild, Jesse Cash; parents, Seymour and Mary Carter; and brother, Bill Carter and wife Joyce.
She is survived by three children, Debbie Conaway of Sullivan, Missouri, Mary Roberts and husband Ron of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Sharon Amheiser and husband David of Sullivan, Missouri; three step children, Leigh Ann Reeves and husband Mike of Sullivan, Missouri, Greg Farmer of Leasburg, Missouri and Kim Saling and husband Brad of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ron Roberts Jr. and fiancé Alicia Palermo, Dalton Roberts and fiancé Samantha Cash, Dawson Amheiser, Chelsea Conaway and significant other Dustin, Thomas Conaway and wife Destinie, and Lindsay Cash; three step grandchildren, Cody Reeves and wife Amber, Kylie Reeves, and Stevi Saling; nine great-grandchildren, Clayton, Rylee, Royce, William, Mason, Brooklyn, Emma, Adaline and Kayden; two step great grandchildren, Jersey and Khaleesi; four sisters, Gail Ransom of Sullivan, Missouri, Rita Redford and husband Bert of Bourbon, Missouri, Carmen Elledge and husband Gale of Louisiana, Missouri and Doris Jesse and husband Steve of Sullivan, Missouri; sister-in-law, Kathy Sohn of St. Clair, Missouri; special friend, Gene Williamson; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Eagles Hall in Sullivan, Missouri.
