Mary Elizabeth Skyles


    Mary Elizabeth Skyles of St. James, Missouri was born on August 8, 1942 in St. James, Missouri to Lyman J. and Edna W. Geren Skyles and passed away on July 16, 2022 at the age of 79 years.


    She loved to read her Bible and listen to gospel music.
    Mary loved to watch and listen to the birds and wildlife. Hummingbirds would dart back and forth, and the turkeys and their young would come in the yard, along with deer and rabbits. Mary also loved her beautiful roses, pansies and irises.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Edna Skyles; one sister, Margaret (Teddle) I. Jose; and four brothers, Lyman E. Skyles, George V. Skyles, Norman E. Skyles and one infant.
    She is survived by three brothers, Chuck (Connie) Skyles of Rockwall, Texas, Harry (Betty) Skyles of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Richard Skyles of Afton, Missouri; five sisters, Edith (David) Schroyer of Cuba, Missouri, Anna Skyles and Dorothy Skyles of St. James, Missouri, Sharon (Louis) Jones of Longview, Texas and Carla  (Charlie) Scantlin of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Dora Skyles of St. James, Missouri and Mary K. Skyles of Salem, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Stephen Brubaker officiating.
    Pallbearers were James Scantlin, David Scantlin, Jason Hinson, Jonathan Skyles, James Skyles and Chris Werline.
    Burial was in the family plot at the Wishon Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
