Genevieve Bullock

    Genevieve (nee Frey) Bullock was born March 17, 1921 in Vienna, Missouri to Peter Clay and Bertha Minerva (nee Tackett) Frey and passed away July 26, 2022 at the age of 101 years.

    On December 16, 1939, Genevieve married Leonard Alvin Bullock.
    Genevieve was employed for many years as the head cook for Harrison Center School Vichy, Missouri, also as a seamstress for California Manufacturing, St. James, Missouri many years prior to 1978 when she and Leonard sold their farm at Vichy and relocated to Belle, Missouri.
    Genevieve enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, growing flowers and was especially proud of her variety of Iris as well as her variety of Cactus.
    She also enjoyed embroidering quilt blocks, sewing, and quilting and playing Uno with the grandkids, feeding the fish in the pond, and sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and reading.
    After retiring she also enjoyed spending time at the Vienna Senior Center as well as was the volunteer contact person for many years for the Older Adults Transportation Service, receiving the award of “Volunteer of the Year.”
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Alvin Bullock on January 15, 2001; one son-in-law, Fred “Fritz” Kinkead; and four sisters, Lola Adkins, Mabel Honse, Marie Crum and Thelma Frey.
    She is survived by her children, Kenneth Bullock of Vichy, Missouri, Kathleen Kinkead of Belle, Missouri, Delores Nicolson of Belle, Missouri and Shane (Vicki) Bullock of Fulton, Missouri; grandchildren, Jim Sohm, Kathy Sohm of  Richland, Missouri, Angie (Shawn) Jones of Belle, Missouri, Shaun (Donna Jungel) Bullock of West Brooklyn, Illinois, Pete (Kori) Bullock of Paw Paw, Illinois; six great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Anderson of Westphalia, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Arrangements under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle, Missouri.
