Alice Elaine Thrasher

    Alice Elaine Thrasher was born December 10, 1926 in Marion, Illinois to Raleigh and Mildred (McNeish) Wilkins and passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the age of 95 years.

    At age 20, Elaine accepted the Lord at an altar call at the Assembly of God Church of Cottage Hills, Illinois. She and her husband worked with Pastor Burgund at Cottage Hills, Illinois Assembly of God before pastoring Bunker Hill, Illinois, Assembly of God for 7 1/2 years and Villa Hills Assembly of God, Belleville, Illinois for 22 years.  
    In her early 60s, she and her husband began to travel for 10 years as Evangelists crossing the Midwestern and Southern states.  Later years and into her 80s, they Pastored in Steelville, Missouri, Davisville, Misssouri and Newburg, Missouri.
    Elaine sang beautifully in the meetings assisting her husband in services.  She had a gift from the Lord praying people through to the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Even in her 80s, she could outlast the young, staying right with those who were hungry to receive the Baptism  in the Holy Spirit until they received as she had many years before.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. H.E. Thrasher; parents, Raleigh and Mildred Wilkins; brother, Raymond Wilkins; and three sisters; Rosetta Wilkins, Betty Maddox and Mildred King.
    She is survived by three children, Rev. Mick and Sharon Thrasher of St. James, Missouri, Carol Holem and Deborah and Rev. Richard Crabb; grandchildren, Michael and Susanne Thrasher of Nixa, Missouri, Chaplain Stephen and Christi Holem of Marion, Illinois, Joy and David Kirby of Nixa, Missouri and Holts Summit, Missouri, Rev. Mark and DeShae Thrasher of Malden, Missouri, Carol and Matt Fitzlaff of Pleasant Hope, Missouri and Major Jonathan and JoAnn Holem of Jefferson City, Missouri; great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Earlene Rench of Alton, Illinois and Virginia Grinnell of Marion, Illinois; brother, Jack Wilkins of Tennessee; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri with Rev. Mark Thrasher officiating.
    Pallbearers were Mike Thrasher, Steve Holem, Jonathan Holem, Joshua Kirby, Jonathan Kirby and Nathan Thrasher.
    Burial was at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Bethalto United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bethalto, Illinois.
