Sandy Ray Zinn of St. James, Missouri was born January 24, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to Truman Martin and Florence Berniece Zinn and passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the age of 74 years.
He married Wanda Adams on June 14, 1970 in St. James, Missouri.
Sandy was in the maintenance field all his life. Over the course of his life, he worked for various businesses, including Phelps Health Hospital, the Schweitzer Plant in Rolla, Missouri for many years, Brewer Science in Rolla, as well as several others.
The skills he acquired enabled him to make his dreams a reality, particularly when he and Wanda built a home and turned it in to the beautiful Painted Lady Bed and Breakfast, a St. James landmark. The Christmas light display Sandy created was a yearly attraction for locals and a treat for tourists.
Sandy was a brave soldier and served in the United States Army. Although he was never one to talk much about it, he fought bravely and served with honor and distinction – earning several awards and medals during his deployments to Korea.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda of St. James, Missouri; one sister, Susan Zinn of Rolla, Missouri; three nephews, Jeff, Justin, and Jeremy Khoury; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Mike Smith officiating.
Burial was in the family plot at the St. James Cemetery.
