The FAFSA is open and Steelville High School will host a FAFSA Frenzy Night on Tuesday, November 1 at 6 p.m. in the library. This is open to high school seniors and current college students (or parents) in the area.
The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is the primary form used by federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs in determining an individual’s eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.
The workshop will help with filing, which is completed online at fafsa.gov, creating an FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov, and go through the steps involved in completing the application. A representative from East Central College will be available to help navigate through the application.
Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop, phone, social security number, and 2021 tax information (or upload it from the IRS online).
