Ivan W. “Bud” Monda


    Ivan W. “Bud” Monda of Cuba, Missouri was born on October 20, 1929 in Crawford County, Missouri to Walter and Nellie A. (nee Adair) Monda and passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the age of 93 years.


    Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the State of Tennessee Preparatory School, after 30 years of dedicated service in the Maintenance Dept. He enjoyed woodworking, leather making, carpentry work, traveling, camping and was known as an amazing storyteller.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie Monda; wife, Elena (nee Moore) Monda; two brothers, Buel Monda and Roger Monda; one sister, Mary and husband Bob Hines; two brothers-in-law, Jim Nelson and Vernon “Porky” White.
    He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hughes of Cuba, Missouri; three sisters, Shirley and husband Charles Kelley of St. Louis, Missouri, Carol Nelson of St. James, Missouri and Sharon White of Cuba, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Mary Monda of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in  Cuba, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Joe Bruno officiating.
    Pallbearers were Brian White, Keven White, Keith Kelley, Vern Hines, Bart Nelson and Trent Nelson.
    Interment with full military honors followed at the Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
