Police Department holding Christmas donation program

The St. James Police Department is holding a Thin Blue Line Christmas Gift Bag Project aimed at providing gifts to homebound residents for the holidays. Donations will be accepted from November 15 through December 14 and used to aid senior citizens.

Participants can pick up a Christmas bag at the police department and fill it with items or items can be donated and will be included with the gift bags. Gift bags can be picked up and dropped off in the lobby of the police department Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Each bag will be labeled with the recipient’s gender and suggested items that can be purchased. Items are requested to be new and unused.
Suggested items to be included are adult coloring books, colored pencils, puzzles, craft projects, large print books, lap blankets, socks, snacks, lip balm, large print crossword puzzle books, pens, body sprays, lotions, wreaths/door hangers, and window clings. These are merely suggestions and donors can include items not on the list.
Anyone who knows a homebound resident and wants to ensure they are included in the drive to make Christmas better for the community, email Laurie Lambeth at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
