Mary Margaret Powell was born in Puerto Rico at Ramey Air Force Base to James Elmer Powell and Helene Weinert-Powell and passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at the age of 60 years.
As a military family, her early childhood years were spent traveling to different bases around the United States. The family moved to the Vichy, Missouri area as Mary entered junior high. After graduating from Belle High School in 1980, she pursued an accreditation in the clerical field.
Her work life included the Phelps County Health Department and Missouri Department of Natural Resources. A passion for animals has always been a life long personal interest. She enjoyed going to many Alabama concerts and loved Cardinal baseball, specifically Mark McGwire.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (nee Shipman) Weinert-Powell; and father, James Elmer Powell.
She is survived by her two children, Marlaina Mitchell, and husband Nathaniel of St. James, Missouri and Donald “D.J.” Malone of Fenton, Missouri; three brothers and one sister, Stephen Powell and wife Venetia of Saint Charles, Missouri, Mike Powell and wife Janice of Douglass, Kansas, Tim Powell and Sulinn of Andover, Kansas, and Karen Grimes and husband Stephen of Gautier, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Abby, Sam, Ben, Trevor G. Olivia, Sophia, and Trevor; one great grandchild, Maverick; significant other, Randy Maxey; step mother, Alice Ferguson of Eminence, Missouri; three step sisters, Lynn Howard and husband Steve, Cathy Phillips and significant other Dave Sommers of Eminence, Missouri and Mary Belinda Malone and husband Kyle of Salem, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
Visitation was held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
