Bob Watkins

    Bob Watkins of St. James, Missouri was born November 3, 1940 in Rolla, Missouri to  Harold and Christine Munzert Watkins and passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the age of 82 years.

    On November 21, 1958 Bob married Jean Chilton. On November 21, he and Jean would have celebrated 64 years of marriage.
    Bob worked as a carpenter for most of his life. He was also known as “Country Bob” where he and his wife started the restaurant, Country Bob’s.
    Bob loved his horses and his dog, Fred. Bob was a member of the Quarter Horse Association and the Paint Horse Association. He raised many horses through the years;.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Christine Watkins; mother-in-law, Lorraine Chilton; father-in-law, Marvin Chilton; brothers, Sam Watkins and Kenny Stevens; sister, Sandra Watkins; brothers-in-law, Warren Forness and Richard Chilton; and sister-in-law, Mary Etta Blackburn.
    He is survived by his wife, Jean of St. James, Missouri; son, John Watkins and wife Debbie of St. James, Missouri; two daughters, Tammy Terrill and husband, Mike of St. James, Missouri and Robin Hutto and husband, Dale of Troy, Missouri; grandchildren, Travis Terrill (Cheryl), Blake Terrill (Amanda), Alyssa Schweiss (Cameron), Justin Lorts (Kristin), Dylan Lorts (Courtney), John Terrill (Sara) and Levi Hutto; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Watkins of Rolla, Missouri and Sharon Forness of Rolla, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Debbie Scudder and husband John, Sharon Tennyson and husband Jerry and Donna Bruns and husband Matt; two brothers-in-law, Larry Chilton and wife Judy and Dale Chilton and wife Laura; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Bro. Stephen Brubaker and John Scudder officiating.
    Pallbearers were Travis Terrill, Blake Terrill, Bailey Terrill, Justin Lorts, Dylan Lorts, Levi Hutto and Alyssa Schweiss. Honorary pallbearer was John Rueben Terrill.
    Burial was in the Adams Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
