Retired United State Air Force Captain Sandi Troup was a guest speaker at a Veterans Day assembly held at St. James High School Monday morning. Students organized the ceremony, which was held in the gymnasium, to recognize and honor area veterans for their service.

MDC thanks deer hunters for help with CWD sampling
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) thanks the many thousands of deer hunters who participated in its mandatory CWD sampling efforts in 29 counties Nov. 16 and 17 during the opening weekend of the November portion of the fall firearms deer season. Thanks to hunter participation, MDC collected more than 18,800 tissue samples from hunter-harvested deer for CWD testing.

Santa delays his visit to Bourbon
The Bourbon Boosters had announced that Santa would make his annual visit to Bourbon for the Christmas Tree Lighting on December 5, but due to a glitch in his schedule, the Tree Lighting Ceremony has been changed to Friday evening, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Town and Country Plaza.
