Lane, Williamson top BHS graduating class - PHOTO GALLERY

           Valedictorian Victoria Lane and Salutatorian Josie Williamson were among 57 Bourbon High School seniors awarded their diplomas in the BHS gym on Thursday, May 26. The ceremony included three student speeches, special music, and a unique recognition of senior parents.

Council gets update on sewer, stormwater projects

            During its meeting on May 17, the Cuba City Council received updates on sewer lining and stormwater projects from Archer-Elgin Engineering, of Rolla. Alderman also approved recommendations from two committees and passed two ordinances.

Scholarships awarded to BHS seniors

          More than $18,000 in local scholarships were awarded to seniors at Bourbon High School during graduation ceremonies that were held on Thursday, May 26. Twenty of this year’s graduates will be attending colleges or technical schools in the fall.

New Therapy & Wellness Center opens at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital

            A year after breaking ground, Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital (MBSH) has completed construction on its new 13,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Therapy & Wellness Center with the Grand Opening held on Thursday, May 26. The Center is located adjacent to the hospital at 975 Mattox Drive and houses physical, occupational, and speech therapies for children and adults, as well as massage therapy services.

School board hears SRO update

           The Cuba School District is expected to have a new School Resource Office (SRO) from the Cuba Police Department in place by the start of the 2022-23 school year, it was reported at last week’s meeting of the school board. Another SRO from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has already been hired.
