Ministerial Alliance hosts National Day of Prayer event

           The Cuba Ministerial Alliance hosted its annual gathering on May 5 for the 2022 National Day or Prayer at Cuba Free Will Baptist Church. Several local leaders offered prayers for the country.

Tiger Shark Waterpark opening officially delayed

           Pool goers will have to wait a while longer to swim in the Tiger Shark Waterpark after a strainer broke at the facility earlier this month and a replacement has yet to be received. The facility was scheduled to hold its season opening this Friday, May 27, but the facility will remain closed until parts can be received and installed.

Butterfly release celebration raises money for hospice fund

            Phelps Health held its annual butterfly release at Huffman’s Flowers of the Field Garden Center on Saturday, May 21. Rainy weather did not stop celebration, which raised over $10,000.

S&T faculty pilot new intervention program for struggling students 

The sudden culture shock that comes with transitioning from high school studies to college is a challenge that many students face. To help students in introductory courses better succeed, Missouri University of Science and Technology’s English and technical communication department implemented a new early intervention pilot program for students struggling with coursework.
