Bourbon Quilting Guild Exhibit opens at local museum

    The Crawford County Historical Society Museum is pleased to announce a new quilt exhibit. The Bourbon Quilt Guild has a colorful and unique lineup of quilts on display now and like every quilt, there is a story behind the fabric.

Seven will compete for fair queen title

    Seven young women from Cuba and Steelville will take the main stage on Wednesday, July 14, at the 74th Annual Crawford County Fair at Hood Park in Cuba as they vie to become the next fair queen. The pageant will get underway with the talent competition at 7 p.m., followed by the coronation at 9 p.m.

Two take bronze at World Finals in acrobatics

    Team USA gymnastics members, Moraeah “Mo” Arthur and Arianna Katsov, competed in World Acro Geneva 2021 last month, earning a bronze medal for the United States. The competition is the Acrobatic World Championship and saw the top acrobatics in the world competing against each other.

Trinity Episcopal Church gets new pastor

    Trinity Episcopal Church has its new pastor, Reverend Kevin McGrane, filling the role left vacant following the passing of long-time pastor Steve Barber. Barber died in 2016 after serving as pastor since 2008.

Pump at treatment plant repaired after breakdown

    A Return Activated Sludge (RAS) pump broke down at the St. James wastewater treatment plant on Monday, June 28, leading the city to borrow a temporary pump while the old one could be repaired. The RAS is important to the plant as it moves wastewater through the plant while being treated.
