Ashlyn Lewis, a 2020 graduate of Bourbon High School, has been selected to receive the Bill Wallis Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The scholarship provides $2,000 in financial assistance for her education.
The St. James Schools Nutrition department will be providing meals for students attending virtually or via Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) beginning the first day of school. Families need to register for meals this week to begin receiving meals next week, when school opens for the fall semester.
Last month, the James Memorial Library was provided $6,942 in coronavirus relief funding, which has helped the facility to purchase new Chromebooks and Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout. Funding was provided through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and users of the facility will now have additional options in connecting to the internet.
Crawford County’s positive COVID-19 cases has passed the 100 mark, totaling 111 as of Monday, August 17. That shows an increase of 34 cases over the previous week when the total was 77 on August 10. On Monday August 3, the total was 58.
The 2020 Crawford County Tax Sale will take place on Monday, August 24 at the courthouse.
