The fifth-seeded St. James High School softball team ended its season by falling to fourth-seeded Buffalo 5-4 in the first round of the Missouri Class 3 District 10 Tournament, Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Bolivar.
The St. James High School volleyball squad has been seeded sixth for the Class 3 District 8 Tournament, to be held Oct. 28-29 at Sullivan High School.
The St. James High School cross country team placed eighth in the boys varsity race at the Owensville Invitational on Oct. 15.
Fatima was the boys’ team champion with 47 points, while Hermann was runner-up with 80, and host Owensville third at 81. St. James was eighth with 213.
The St. James Middle School Lady Tigers earned two more tournament sweeps last week. The seventh grade swept the home tournament, defeating Pacific, Union and then Owensville for the championship, while the eighth grade took the Owensville tournament by defeating St. Clair, Hermann and the host team in the finals.
The Steelville High School varsity volleyball team shocked Viburnum Monday night with a straight set victory, 25-20 and 25-23, to claim a share of the Gasconade Valley Conference title. The Blue Jays had been undefeated in GVC play coming into the match.
The Steelville High School Lady Cardinals have been seeded second for the Class 2 District 8 volleyball tournament, which gets underway on Monday, Oct. 28, in Belle.
