Cody Moore of Midlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (who embalms part time for Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Thiebes Funeral Home and Bell Funeral Home) recently completed 41 hours of specialized embalming and reconstructive training at the Fountain National Academy’s seminars by attending the Advanced Post Mortem Reconstructive Surgery Seminar. The seminar was held at the Fountain National Academy Training Facility in Springfield, Missouri.

A new year is here, and Walmart invites communities to start down the path of getting – and staying – healthy at the first Walmart Wellness Day of 2023 on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers can receive free health screenings for things like glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure , as well as affordable immunizations like flu, COVID-19, mumps, measles and more at pharmacies nationwide.
For 16 years, the Jennings family has been providing toys to children who are in the hospital over the holidays at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. Each December, the family delivers the toys in hopes a gift will help relieve some of the stress and anxiety children often experience when in the hospital whether as a patient of while visiting a family member.
Throughout Southeast Missouri, The Doe Run Company (Doe Run) employees have come together to give back to the community in a variety of ways this holiday season.
Team members wanted to make sure that the holidays were special for local children with less financial stress for parents. Employees happily adopted families in need and checked off family wish lists with toys and warm clothing. In addition, employees donated non-perishable food items to help stock families’ pantries.
