Steelville Arts Council hosts 12th annual Plein Air event - PHOTO GALLERY

            Steelville Arts Council has held 12 Plein Air events thus far and it just keeps getting better and better. The artists continue to improve their outdoor painting skills, and it shows in their work. And the community of Steelville continues to show their support throughout the week.

Council approves changes to budget for expenditures

           Steelville City Council members approved several budget updates at their June 6 meeting as the city approaches the end of its fiscal year on June 30. Aldermen agreed to open a special account to deposit funds for the Steelville Bike Park, provide city employees with a one-time additional check for COVID premium pay, and reallocate funds in public works to utilize budgeted money for the current year.

City council approves duck crossing signs

            Drivers in Steelville will see some new signs roadside soon—ones intended to protect city wildlife.

Elementary students recognized for achievement

           Steelville Elementary School students were recognized for their achievements for third and fourth quarter at the school board meeting held in May. One Student of the Quarter is selected for each grade level for each quarter of the school year.
