LMI sale could drastically impact city

The potential sale by LMI Aerospace of its manufacturing plant in Cuba could have a dramatic impact on the local economy and the city of Cuba. Any closure of the factory before a new owner could ramp up production could not only mean a loss of about 100 local jobs, but also a dramatic decrease in utilities revenue for the city.
LMI considering sale of its Cuba factory
According to a story in today’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch, plunging commercial jet orders have aircraft parts and engineering service provider LMI Aerospace eyeing a sale of its Cuba manufacturing plant as a way to unload excess capacity as it weathers the aviation downturn. Local employees were reportedly informed of the plan last week.
Parents put together Cuba prom

On Friday July 24 prom, sponsored by parents and the community was held at Recklein Auditorium for Cuba High School students. There were prizes, pictures, food, glasses, a venue and a DJ which made this a prom to remember.
Lawsuit against city moved to Franklin County
An age-discrimination lawsuit filed against the city of Cuba by a current employee will be heard in Franklin County. A motion to move the case from Crawford County was approved on August 6.
