Class celebrates 50th reunion

The Cuba Alumni Dinner and Dance was held Saturday, October 13 at Recklein Auditorium in Cuba, Missouri. Members of the class of 1968 present were (from left) Penny (Dorf) Sanders, Christy (Sanazaro) Moreland, Robert Gunn, Carol (Licklider) Wheeler, Glenda (Halbert) Ferris, Jackie (Bruner) Bottoms, David Cloninger, Rick Enloe, Ted Zucker, Doug Rutz, Wanda (Brennan) Lovan, Nancy (Skyles) Vincent, Tom Menz, Joy (Hendrickson) Brandenburger, Kay (Martin) Thomas, Jack Hansel, Duane Gray, Don Bast and Steve New.  Those attending but not pictured: Sarah Joe (Prickett) Robinson, Linda (Reiner) Palmer, Darrel Eads and Jacquelyn (Shafferkoetter) Hunt.

Cyclists and Route 66 authors add new elements to Cuba Fest

For more than 50 years Cuba, Missouri has hosted Cuba Fest, a delightful small-town fall festival that enhances the sense that the village is a living Norman Rockwell print. The 2018 festival scheduled for October 20 and 21 reflects the changing face of the community and of Route 66, the historic highway that bisects the city.

Committee recommends better enforcement of current nuisance procedures

The Cuba City Council has been looking for ways to improve its system of reporting and then enforcing nuisance ordinance violations around town. A special committee formed to discuss the matter decided that making the procedures already in place work more efficiently is better than completely overhauling the process.
