Library planning summer reading program

    The Crawford County Library District is “rockin” with excitement as we “tune up” for the 2018 Summer Reading Program.  The theme this year is “Libraries Rock!” and we are planning a “gig” that’s sure to keep our patrons “jammin” through the summer!  But, we’re not just “singing” about it!  We’re preparing to “dig” in and explore some of the geological features that make Missouri a “gem” of a place to be!

Todd recognized as public administrator of the year

Franky Todd has been recognized by the Missouri Association of Public Administrators with the Public Administrator of the Year Award. The announcement came at the annual conference of statewide public administrators, held in April at Poplar Bluff.

Impaired driver enforcement planned for Crawford County

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of May, troopers assigned to Troop I will be conducting an impaired driving enforcement patrol in Crawford County. 

AmeriCorps NCCC serving at Mound Ridge

    A new team of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) members is in town conducting trail maintenance and supporting summer camp programming.  The group of 10 young adults arrived on April 7 and will be serving here through July 6.

Commission moves in favor of property owner on sewage issue

Crawford County Commissioners were confronted with another unusual septic system issue at their May 9 meeting. The commission heard from both the county health inspector and the property owner about the situation. After noting that the inspector had done her job appropriately, commissioners made a decision on the matter in favor of the property owner in this case.
