Contract awarded to Capital Paving and Construction to resurface the outer road in Crawford County

    The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a contract to resurface the Interstate 44 Outer Road in Crawford County.
    Capital Paving and Construction was awarded the contract after submitting the low bid of $1,030,690.

Extension Council election begins

    The names of six persons are on the January ballot for election of University of Missouri County Extension Council members. Council Chair Dana Richter said six county residents will be elected by districts to fill this year’s vacancies.  The new council begins its duties March 1, according to state law.

New treasurer says county didn’t prepare for her takeover

New Crawford County Treasurer Karen Sikes took office on January 1. Sikes approached the county commission at a meeting on January 8 with a list of problems she had encountered since moving into the courthouse, along with some issues she had noted while working with the previous treasurer in an attempt to learn about the office.

New Year’s Baby arrives at MBSH

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital welcomed the New Year’s baby on January 2, 2019.  Roger Rembecki, MD delivered Norma Ray Ellis at 8:38 a.m. to her proud parents Clinton and Danielle Ellis. Norma weighed in at a healthy 9 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
