On Monday, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced the James Memorial Public Library has been awarded a grant of $6,942 in coronavirus relief funding. The money will be used to help the library offer additional technology needs to the community.

In response to a potential COVID-19 exposure at a recent Licking Volleyball Camp in Rolla, the Rolla School District has announced that this weekend’s planned basketball camp in Rolla and St. James has been canceled.
The Summer Reading Program began on June 29 and there is still time to participate. The James Memorial Public Library is again offering free programming to help engage students and families in learning activities throughout the summer and sign-ups are available on the library’s website for those wanting to get involved.
The James Memorial Public Library reopened its doors after months of closure due to COVID-19 and an indoor renovation to create a new handicapped accessible restroom. The facility is now open to the public with some coronavirus restrictions in place.
Eric Sherrill, of Branco Enterprises, informed the St. James Board of Education that progress on school construction projects remains on schedule. During last Thursday night’s meeting, he told the board the early childhood center will be open for the start of the new school year and new classrooms will be opening in the fall, allowing for more room for students.
