Trout season opened on Friday, March 1, with crowds filling Maramec Spring Park for the first time for this year’s fishing season. Despite cold weather and icy conditions, the park saw a large turnout for the weekend fishing and the season is now underway.

Girls and boys Mighty Mites 3-on-3 basketball forms will both be due May 10 at the Rec. Center. No player’s fee will be required. The league is open to children 7-8 years old, but not nine by June 1.
The James Memorial Public Library will hold its fifth annual book sale March 7-9, offering residents a great chance to purchase new and used books at a low price. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, the annual sale is a way sell old or duplicate books to make room for new selections.
Camp Brim Shire is set to open for the summer on April 5 despite what rumors may say. Co-founder Rich Hashagen said he has received several calls from contacts who have heard the camp is closed for good.
