The St. James Caring Center held a grand re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 11 to celebrate the newly remodeled Thrift Store expansion.

Schools in St. James have been closed until April 6 to help stop the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, in Missouri. The district canceled school on Tuesday until the selected time to return and will be working to give instruction to students remotely and get them fed in the interim.
The city of St. James has started a project to bring a fiber Internet connection to the police and street department offices. A planned power outage was held on March 8 to replace a utility pole on Bourbuese Street and move utilities to it in preparation of the new installation of the fiber line.
The second annual Race to End Alzheimer’s 5k has been postponed due to concerns over COVID-19, more commonly known as coronavirus. Plans are to reschedule the event later this fall, but the Alzheimer’s Association are shutting down all plans for group events indefinitely.
Many local entities are temporarily changing their policies to combat the fear of spreading the coronavirus, which causes COVID-19. From city government, to senior housing facilities, and local organizations, steps are being implemented at every level to stop the spread locally.
