St. James was hit with a citywide power outage on Friday afternoon. Power remained out for more than an hour until the issue could be identified and repairs made.
The St. James Chamber of Commerce is holding the second annual Warrior’s Honor Walk in honor of Veteran’s Day and is selling American flags for the event. Flags are still available for those wanting to honor a local veteran and can be purchases online or at the Tourist Information Center.
The Red Regiment Marching Band ended its marching season on a high note, taking first place in its class and third overall in all classes at the Reeds Spring Marching Festival on October 23. While finals were canceled due to weather, the band had a strong showing and brought home several awards.
Ward 2 councilwoman Tracy Edwards resigned from the St. James city council on Tuesday, October 26, following a special session of the council the night before. Mayor Rick Krawiecki accepted her resignation and will look to appoint someone to fill the vacancy until the April general election.
