Council passes pool ordinance

    The St. James City Council met on Tuesday, October 9 to discuss several matters pertaining to the city. During the meeting, the council:
•    Held a public hearing regarding a pool ordinance that would prohibit homeowners within the city limits from having pools placed in the front yard of the property. No public comment was heard.

Newspaper makes donation to chamber

Saint James Press advertising representatives Dailene Forbes (left) and Kelli Rapp (right) recently presented St. James Chamber of Commerce Director Robin Ziegler (center) with a check of $1,268.92. The donation was made possible from revenue generated by this year’s Grape and Fall Festival book, which was printed by Three Rivers Publishing, parent company of the The Saint James Press.

4-H club donates playground equipment

The Country Kids and Evening Star 4-H groups donated two new playground features that have been installed in the St. James City Park. Clubs received $250 in grants from The James Foundation and each club paid $852.52, raised through fundraising efforts, to purchase the fixtures. Installation was completed by the City of St. James.
