Forcing five turnovers during the stretch, the St. James High School boys’ basketball team opened the game by scoring 17 of the game’s first 19 points and went on to whip Salem 70-52 in non-conference action Friday, Dec. 7 at St. James.

Two members of the St. James High School football team—one who is used to postseason honors and the other never having played prep football before this fall—have been selected to the Missouri Football Coaches Association Class 3 All-State Team, it was announced on Saturday, Dec. 8. Tigers named to the Class 3 All-State third team were senior running back Tyler Recker and senior punter Grant Conway.
The third-seeded St. James High School girls’ basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Sullivan Peoples Bank Holiday Tournament by defeating six-seeded Four-Rivers Conference rival Owensville 55-49 in the first round Monday, Dec. 10.
The St. James Middle School boys won all four of their games last week. The Tigers swept Hermann and Houston.
The seventh grade took the court first, hosting Houston on December 3. St. James took the first quarter 15-4, while the second quarter slowed a little, but the Tigers still outscored Houston 10-6 to lead by 15 going into the second half.
Cody Wilfong took gold and went undefeated at the Camdenton Wrestling Tournament for the St. James Middle School wrestling Tigers on Saturday.
“We had several kids that did very well and several who struggled,” Coach Cole Thompson said. “We went 14-25 in matches.”
