Red Team wins tourney, completes perfect season

    The Steelville Middle School girls basketball Red Team finished their season with a perfect 16-0 record after capturing the championship of the Cuba tournament last week. The eighth graders on the team finished their middle school careers with an overall record of 30-1, having lost just to Salem’s eighth-grade team in last year’s Oak Hill tournament championship game.

White Team ends the season at 8-6

    The Steelville Middle School girls White Team went 1-2 in last week’s Oak Hill seventh grade tourney, dropping the third-place game to Salem’s A squad. The Lady Cardinals finished the season with a record of 8-6.

Gibbs and Merseal earn all-state honors

    Steelville High School had two all-state runners at last year’s Missouri Cross Country Championships, and the Cardinals repeated that feat on Saturday. And for one Cardinal, it was a fourth straight all-state performance in the state meet.

Steelville Middle School boys win Bland tournament

    The Steelville Middle School boys basketball A Team played in the Bland Eighth Grade Tournament last week and came away with the championship after facing Bourbon, Bland, and Cuba. They are trying for another title this week in the Cuba tourney.

Five Lady Cards earn post-season volleyball awards

    Five Steelville High School volleyball players have earned post-season honors. Four were named to the Gasconade Valley Conference all-conference teams, while three received all-district honors.
