The Steelville Middle School girls basketball teams were busy last week, with back-to-back road games at Vienna and Bland before hosting St. James. The Lady Cardinals won five of the six contests.
Three Steelville Lady Cardinals have been named to this year’s Gasconade Valley Conference all-conference softball team. Two were named to the first team, while the third received honorable mention.
The Steelville Middle School boys traveled to Vienna for a pair of basketball games on October 22 and came home with two easy victories. The Cardinals combined to outscored the Eagles 96-30 in six quarters.
The Steelville High School varsity volleyball team reached the semifinals of last week’s Class 2 District 8 tournament in Belle before falling to the eventual champions. The Lady Cardinals ended the season with a record of 13-11-2.
For the second year in a row, the Steelville High School boys and girls cross country teams as the Gasconade Valley Conference champions. The SHS teams also earned nine out of a possible 14 all-conference spots and had two individual champions at Monday’s GVC meet, which was held in Viburnum.
