Lady Cards end regular season at 19-6

    The Steelville High School varsity girls basketball team closed out its regular season with a pair of games against Tipton and West County on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Cards got one more victory to improve to 19-6 as they head into district play.

SHS boys, girls earn top district seeds

    The Steelville High School boys and girls basketball teams have both earned the top seed for the upcoming Class 3 District 9 tournament and will get to host their first-round games. The tournament finals will be played in Dixon.

Lady Cards earn late victory over Dragons

    For 31 minutes Saturday at Steelville Middle School, it looked like the Steelville Lady Cardinals and Ste. Genevieve Lady Dragons would have enjoyed the afternoon off more than they were enjoying their unscheduled matchup in the midst of our winter deep freeze. In the final minute, however, both teams decided to give it their all and it paid off for Steelville at the final buzzer.

Varsity boys move to 4-0 in GVC play

    The Steelville High School varsity boys basketball team moved two steps closer to another Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) championship last week with a win over Belle and a forfeit victory over Viburnum. The Cardinals have just one game remaining at Vienna on Thursday, weather permitting.

Cards get wins over Union, Bourbon

    The Steelville High School varsity boys basketball team improved its record to 15-6 last week with wins over Union and Bourbon. The Cardinals are now 2-0 in conference play.
