The Steelville High School varsity volleyball team ran into a rough streak over the past two weeks, losing three of four matches. After falling to Cuba and defeating Belle, the Lady Cardinals are now 2-2 in Gasconade Conference play.
Injuries and illness led to the cancellation of two Lady Cardinals softball games recently, but the Steelville High School girls did manage to get two games in against Gasconade Valley Conference rival Cuba last week. The Wildcats won both games, however, by a total score of 31-3.
It was a clean sweep for Steelville at the Belle Invitational Cross Country Meet on September 20. The Cardinals won both high school varsity races and also swept the middle school meet.
The Steelville High School varsity volleyball team opened Gasconade Valley Conference play in Viburnum on September 10 with a loss, but earned a GVC match win in Bourbon Monday night. The Lady Cardinals also competed in the Cuba tournament on Saturday.
The Steelville High School softball team went on the road for three games last week and came home with a pair of victories to improve their record to 2-3 on the season. The Lady Cardinals got wins over Laquey and Newburg, but lost to Stoutland.
