Seventh-grade boys basketball team off to a hot start

    The Cuba Middle School boys basketball team are right in the midst of their 2019 season and things couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the seventh graders. The young Wildcats are currently unbeaten.

CMS girls win three out of four

    The Cuba Middle School girls basketball teams won three out of four games last week. The Lady Wildcats split a pair of games with Steelville and then took two from Bourbon.

Through their first ten games of 2019, the CMS seventh grade girls basketball team has a 3-7 record, while the eighth grade Lady Wildcats have a 6-4 record. Both teams continue to improve from one game to the next as they see more time on the court against different opponents. Randy Bouse and Lorelei Rice make up the CMS coaching staff, with Rice in charge of the seventh grade squad and Bouse heading up the eighth grade team.

Two CHS runners will compete at the state cross country meet

Melayna Brown and Logan Ray have been the top runners on the Cuba High School cross country team all year long, consistently having the best race finish times for the CHS girls and boys teams. Their hard work paid dividends on Saturday, as the two runners both qualified for the state cross country meet by running well in the Class 2, District 5 competition that was held at St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington.

Cats defeat Panthers in rematch 28-13, will play Lutheran North in district semis

The Cuba Wildcats will advance to the semifinals of the Class 2, District 2 football playoffs after getting revenge against the Principia Panthers in a quarterfinal rematch last weekend.
