CCSO reports on youth DWI enforcement campaign

    The Crawford County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) participated in a statewide youth alcohol enforcement campaign conducted from June 4 to 15 in an effort to combat the issue of impaired driving in the local community.

Collector and assessor revisit tax sale concerns

    Both the collector and assessor of Crawford County were at the commission meeting on July 7 to provide an update to information on tax sale issues presented by Collector Pat Schwent the previous week. Assessor Kellie Vestal was able to provide some explanation on where the confusion lies, but some further research may still need to be done to clear the issues.

Missouri S&T faculty members win UM System President’s Awards

The University of Missouri System announced that seven members of the Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty earned President’s Awards, the highest honor bestowed by the system, for excellence in the areas of teaching, research, service and economic development. In all, 20 awards will be presented this year.

Crawford County up to 20 COVID-19 cases

There have now been 20 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Crawford County. According to numbers posted on the Crawford County Health Department (CCHD) Facebook page on Thursday, July 9, of those 20 cases, there are seven active cases, 13 released from isolation, and two positive serology (antibody testing). There have been 1,624 negative results for COVID-19 tests.

ABC Investments owner planning changes, memorabilia auction

    ABC Investments, a well-known mom-and-pop retail business at 408 S. Franklin Street in Cuba, is getting a face lift. Owner and operator Darlene Mullen is switching things up at the small shop.
