The Cuba Wildcats dropped to 0-8 with a pair of varsity road losses last week. The Wildcat boys lost at Owensville in a game they led going into the fourth quarter, and then they dropped an away contest to a Salem squad that had them noticeably outsized.
The Steelville High School varsity boys’ basketball team improved its season record to 3-2 last week with a 70-60 win over Richland on December 4. It was the Cardinals first home game of the year.
The Bourbon High School boys’ basketball team finished second at the Principia tournament last week. The varsity Warhawks are now 5-2 on the season.
St. James is never an easy game, and it’s even tougher playing in front of their home crowd. The Lady Tigers proved just how tough it can be in a 58-23 thrashing of the Lady Wildcat varsity girls last week.
The Cuba Wildcats are still searching for that elusive first victory, after the varsity boys took losses against Union and Dixon last week.
The Cats went on the road to Union on Tuesday, December 4, and they simply couldn’t keep up with Union’s offense. In the battle between Wildcat teams, Union held a decisive advantage in scoring, putting up a total of 75 points against Cuba.
The Steelville Middle School boys’ basketball teams closed out their 2018 season with a pair of games last week and just missed finishing the year unbeaten. The Cardinals combined for a record of 27-1.
