When you start a lot of freshmen, there is going to be some growing pains. That was the case for the St. James High School softball team a year ago. St. James had a slew of youngsters in the lineup and ended up with a 4-18 overall record and an 0-6 Four Rivers Conference mark.
The Cuba High School varsity football team will open its season at home Friday night against Sullivan, hoping to defeat the Eagles for the second consecutive year. The Wildcats went 6-5 a year ago.
