The St. James High School baseball team split a pair of road games last week. The Tigers opened Four-Rivers Conference play at Sullivan Monday, April 1 and was beaten 6-4. And Tuesday, April 2 St. James clipped Salem 4-3 in a non-league game at Salem.
The St. James High School girls’ soccer squad ran into a buzz saw in state power Union Monday, April 8, falling 10-0 in Four-Rivers Conference play at Union.
Eight different players scored goals for the Union Lady Wildcats, now 11-1.
The St. James High School golf team finished third in the 10-school Salem Tournament Thursday, April 4 at Spring Creek Country Club.
In rainy, cool conditions with standing water in several spots on the course, St. Clair won the team crown with 382, while Cuba was second with 383, and St. James third with 393.
The St. James Middle School Tigers exploded in the first track meet of the season, setting three school records and getting first place as a team for the girls.
The host St. James High track team placed second in the boys’ division and fourth in the girls’ division at the St. James Relays, held Friday, April 5 at the STJ track.
In the boys’ meet, Pacific won the 10-school event with 172.5 points, while St. James was second with 148, and Salem third with 107.
The Cuba Lady Wildcats finished in second place out of five schools competing in the Owensville High School Quad meet. The Cuba boys took third at Owensville.
