The Lady Wildcats took twelfth place in the team standings at the Hermann Invitational track meet on Tuesday, April 23. The Cuba boys finished in fourteenth place.
Cuba Middle School hosted a track and field competition for seventh and eighth graders on Wednesday, April 10. In that home meet, both the CMS Wildcat boys and girls finished in fifth place.
The St. James Kiwanis Club just wrapped up the 2019 season. Fifth and sixth grade girls played two matches each evening for four Tuesdays in April. The program serves as a feeder program for the St. James Middle School volleyball teams.
The St. James High School golf team advanced to sectional competition as a full squad by placing second in the Missouri Class 2 District 2 Tournament, held Tuesday, April 30 at Randall Hinkle Golf Course in Mountain Grove.
Competing in the Class 2, District 2 meet held at Randel-Hinkle Municipal Golf Course in Mountain Grove on Tuesday, April 30, four Cuba Wildcats posted scores qualifying them for the sectional golf tournament. Those who make it out of sectional play will move on to the state golf competition.
If the Steelville High School varsity baseball team could have just gotten off to a better start at home against St. James on April 23, it might have been a different outcome. The Cardinals gave up seven runs in the top of the first and fell to the Tigers 14-12, despite three home runs from senior Garrett Marshall.
