The St. James Middle School wrestling squad started last week off in Pacific. The Tigers also competed in the Farmington tournament.
The young St. James High School wrestling team got much-needed matches and experience over the weekend at the Pleasant Hill Steve Leslie Invitational, held Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
Four games into the season, and the Cuba Wildcat varsity boys are still without a win. Coach Brett Joseph is happy with the way his defense is playing early on, but his team is still looking for answers on the offensive end of the court.
Cuba Lady Wildcat basketball opened the new season with a one-sided road loss at St. Clair and a victory over Viburnum at home in the conference opener.
The new year has begun for Lady Wildcat basketball, and the roster looks much different than it did last season. Fielding a younger team means there will be some growing pains along the way, but Coach Ryan Bobbitt has high expectations of molding this squad into a tight group that can compete both in the Gasconade Valley Conference and in the district playoff tournament at the end of the year.
The Steelville High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams opened their 2018-19 seasons in Dixon on November 20 and it was a clean sweep for the Cardinals. The boys won a pair of games, while the girls got a victory in a varsity only matchup.
