Lady Tigers romp to season-opening win

            The St. James Lady Tigers sent a message to the opposition during their season-opener Saturday, Nov. 19 as part of the Rolla Blue Fish Shootout—the defending Class 4 State Tournament semifinalist may be even better this time around.

Wildcats seeded sixth in Sullivan tourney

            The Cuba High School varsity boys basketball team has been sixth second for the FCNB Bank-It Championship Tournament, which will be held November 28 through December 2 at Sullivan High School.

Basketball districts announced

            The Missouri State High School Activities Association has announced its basketball districts for the 2022-23 season. Cuba and St. James will play in the same district as will Bourbon and Steelville.

SHS senior boys looking for fourth 20-win season

            Six seniors on the Steelville High School varsity boys basketball team will be trying to accomplish a rare feat this year as they go for their fourth 20-win season in a row. The Cardinals will also be playing for their third straight district championship.

CMS boys A team completes perfect season

            The Cuba Middle School boys basketball teams wrapped up their 2022 season last week, hosting St. Clair on November 17. The A team came away with a victory to end the season with a record of 16-0.

Lady Wildcats returning all five starters

            The Cuba High School varsity girls basketball team is bringing back plenty of experience this season, with five starters back on the floor. Head Coach Jett Mullally is hoping that will translate into a Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) championship.
