The St. James High School cross country team opened its season by competing in the 20th annual Vienna Eagle Invitational on September 11 at the Vienna City Park.
The St. James High School volleyball team split a pair of matches last week.
On September 10, the Lady Tigers lost at Rolla in straight sets 25-15, 25-16. “We just couldn’t get in the groove,” said St. James Head Coach Julie Guese. “We couldn’t get our passes on and if we did, we hit the ball out.”

The Steelville High School and Middle School cross country team officially opened their 2019 season at Vienna on September 11 and it was a dominating performance by the SHS teams. The varsity boys, varsity girls, and junior varsity boys all returned home with first-place plaques.
The Four-Rivers Conference season is set to begin in high school football this week. The St. James Tigers can only hope the FRC schedule is more successful for them than their early non-conference slate has been.
