Cards get wins over Union, Bourbon

    The Steelville High School varsity boys basketball team improved its record to 15-6 last week with wins over Union and Bourbon. The Cardinals are now 2-0 in conference play.

Lady Cards get big win over Licking

    In what was likely a preview of this year’s Class 3 District 9 tournament championship game, the Steelville High School girls basketball team got a big victory over Licking on February 1 to improve to 17-5 overall. The loss left the Wildcats at 14-8.

    A slow start doomed the St. James Tigers in a 69-46 conference loss to the Pacific Indians on Friday, Feb. 5 at St. James High School.
    St. James dropped to 6-8 on the season and 1-1 in conference.

Season ends for Lady Tiger wrestlers

    The season came to a close for the two girls on the St. James High School wrestling team over the weekend at the Missouri Girls District 2 Tournament, held Feb. 5-6 at St. Clair.

Lady Tigers’ Case to play at East Central

    Senior Makayla Case of St. James High School will continue her volleyball career in college.
    Case, during a signing ceremony last week at STJ High School, signed to attend and play volleyball at East Central College, a junior college headquartered in Union.
