    The seeds held up in the championship and third-place games of the 76th annual St. James Tournament Friday, Jan. 22.

    The Cuba High School varsity Lady Wildcats basketball team hit the road for a pair of non-conference games and one Gasconade Valley Conference matchup recently. The Lady Cats fell to Northwest, Hermann, and Steelville and are now 2-10 on the season.

Wildcats drop third-place game at Belle tourney

    The Cuba High School varsity boys basketball team reached the third-place game at the Belle tournament last week, but came up short in the final round, falling to Missouri Military Academy 58-43.

Lady Cards were undefeated last week

    The Steelville Lady Cardinals went 5-0 last week, sweeping a pair of games from Van Buren and St. Clair and earning a varsity victory over Vienna. The wins improved the varsity lady Cards to 15-5 overall and 2-0 in Gasconade Valley Conference play.

    The Steelville High School varsity and junior varsity basketball teams made the homecoming fans happy Friday night by easily taking a pair of games from Laquey. The Cardinals combined to sweep the Hornets by a total of 127-62.

Varsity Cardinals get two road wins

    The Steelville High School varsity boys basketball teams hit the road last week, heading to Owensville and St. James. The varsity Cardinals returned home with victories both nights and improved their season record to 10-6.
