Katy Trail State Park offers tram tours for seniors

Missouri State Parks is offering senior citizens an experience at Katy Trail State Park from the comfort of a tram coach during Tuesdays on the Trail tours, a series of eight tours at various locations along the trail. The May 10 tours will run from Rocheport to McBaine, offering a chance for visitors to see a stretch of the trail they may not be able to experience otherwise.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites people interested in black bears in Missouri, how to Be Bear Aware, and hunting black bears in the state to join its free, online Wild Webcast, “Be Bear Aware: Missouri is Bear Country,” on Wednesday, May 11, from noon to 1 p.m.

MDC Conservation Educator Dennis Cooke earns recognition for Hunter Education efforts

Missouri’s Hunter Education program (HED) is administered by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). Certification through the program is required for all hunters born on or after January 1, 1967, and who are 16 years of age or older.  The success of the program is in large part due to the dedication and efforts of both staff and volunteer HED instructors. HED is taught throughout Missouri by nearly 1,000 instructors.
