A boatful of memories

    Somewhere out there, there is someone who owns a boat I am looking for. The history of that boat is something that goes back to my grandfather more than 100 years ago. He and his brother built his first wooden johnboat when they were kids living on the river before World War One. Grandpa became a riverman who built and sold wooden johnboats in years to come, living his life as a riverman on the Big Piney, raising sons who guided fishermen in them.

Need hunter education? MDC offers options

Missouri State Parks hosts Learn2 Aim archery and atlatl instruction

Missouri State Parks invites the public to begin their archer journey by attending a hands-on instruction at Graham Cave and Knob Noster state parks. This program is for those who want to take a step back in time to learn new skills with joint instruction on the basics of archery and atlatl throwing. The program is free and available to ages 10 and up.
