Upcycled art show comes to Gallery Zeke

Steelville Arts Council will present “Upcycled! From Trash to Treasure III,” an exhibit at Gallery Zeke from April 4 to 20. Don’t miss this exhibit showcasing how artists successfully upcycle trash into treasure, combining recycling and innovation to show creative ways to save our resources while making one-of-a-kind art.

April 2 ballots include school’s Prop S, choices for E911 board and city council

The April 2 election will ask Steelville voters to choose a city alderman and a board member for E911, and to decide whether to approve a no-tax-increase bond issue for the Steelville School District.

Country Mart Pharmacy makes Book Buzz donation

Country Mart Pharmacy sponsored and donated the February Book Buzz books to the Steelville Elementary School Library recently. Cole Adams, Lexi Tolly and Blake Mathes took time out to show them off. Book Buzz is part of Three Rivers Publishing’s Newspapers In Education program.

Steelville City Council Notes: February

The Steelville City Council met on February 4 and 22 to conduct business as follows.

February 4

•    Alderman Terry Beckham presented information he had compiled on police department regular and overtime hours in response to Chief Mike Sherman’s request for another officer to replace the one allocated as a School Resource Officer. There were questions on the numbers provided, and Alderman Bill Bennett suggested the chief and personnel committee (Aldermen Beckett and Sharon Hubbard) get together to talk about the details.
