Hearing set in age discrimination lawsuit

    A hearing has been scheduled for July 20 in Franklin County Circuit Court in Dennis Chandler’s age discrimination lawsuit against the city of Cuba. Chandler’s lawyer requested the hearing on June 30 in an effort to settle a discovery dispute in the case.

Missouri Rods, the Cuba Visitors Center, and the Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Route 66 Cruise-In along Route 66 in Cuba on Saturday. Buchanan, Smith, and N. Main streets were closed off for the event for vendors and activities and cars were on display from the Wagon Wheel Motel to the Post Office.

House fire leads to felony charges

    Arson and burglary charges have been filed against a Cuba woman after she allegedly caused a fire in an abandoned residence on Wall Street.

Several items are cut from final city budget

    The Board of Aldermen voted to finalize the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Monday, June 28, as several projects were put on hold for the year.
