Woman charged for hiding wanted boyfriend

A Leasburg woman has been charged with a felony crime after allegedly hiding a man under her bed while the police were looking for him. Billie Jo Waltrip, 37, stands charged with class E felony hindering prosecution as a result of the July 24 incident.

Bourbon Elementary School receives $2,500 to address substance abuse

    The Bourbon Elementary School received a $2,500 grant from Meramec Regional Community Foundation (MRCF) through the Rural Ozarks Health Initiative to address health issues in relation to substance abuse. The group will use the grant to implement a staff educational training program focusing on addiction and substance abuse. The training will be provided by Prevention Consultants located in Rolla.

Thompson retires after 23 years at Bourbon Schools

    After 23 years of dedicated service to the Crawford County R-I School District, Patricia Thompson called it quits as Bourbon’s superintendent of schools this summer and is now setting her sights on enjoying her golden years. Although she’s sad to say goodbye to her beloved students and staff, she’s excited to see where the new journey into retirement takes her.
