Bottle filling water fountain installed at BHS

    Eighty percent of plastic water bottles purchased each year end up in landfills. That amounts to approximately 35 billion bottles annually.  
    Recycling is a worldwide renowned topic, but something that is rarely acted upon. Statistics are piling up and so is the amount of pollution that the world contains. Several have taken action against this ecological tragedy, but the amount of pollution is often overwhelming.

$500,000 grant will help Bourbon rebuild East Pine Street

In the coming year, Bourbon’s citizens will benefit from a full reconstruction of utility lines and other city infrastructure along East Pine Street, the main downtown thoroughfare. Bourbon was awarded a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that will help fund much of the project, which is scheduled to be bid out this summer.

BHS senor headed to Air Force

Bourbon High School senior Trevor Goodbar has enlisted in the Air Force for six years with a job in Aircraft Maintenance. Goodbar, the son of Rusty and Barb La Plant and Jeff Goodbar, will leave for basic training at the end of the summer. His basic training will be held at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.  He is pictured here with his parents and his Air Force recruiter Technical Sergeant Angela Caufield.
