Bourbon High School seniors Ryan Strop and Jaylynn Winchester were crowned homecoming king and queen during a ceremony held in front of a large crowd at Bourbon High School Friday night.

The late Reid Stephens, who received the second highest Belgian Order of Knighthood last year for his service at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, will be remembered during an open house memorial that will be held at the Bourbon American Legion Hall on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.
After having its previously scheduled homecoming games and coronation canceled on January 15 due to the weather, Bourbon High School will host Steelville at 5:30 p.m. Friday, February 5, for a pair of boys basketball games with the annual coronation ceremony taking place after the junior varsity game.
The Bourbon School District is once again considering a move to a four-day school week. The district initially began discussion on the proposal prior to the 2020-21 school year but opted not to make the change due to the various issues in dealing with COVID-19. Now, the district is asking patrons for their thoughts on moving to a four-day week for the 2021-22 session.
Installation of the new entrance doors to the Bourbon Community Center is now complete. We appreciate the local community organizations who generously donated to the project, the 30 year old doors have been replaced by industrial doors that will last for years and open safely to all visitors.
